Who we are

This website is run by JC Little Explorers Ltd (“JC Little Explorers”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15506907), registered office First Floor, 10 Rotherbrook Court, Petersfield, Hampshire, GU32 3QG. We run nurseries in Purbrook, Hampshire and Southbourne, West Sussex.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. What we collect

• Enquiries and tours: when you request our parent pack or a guide, check availability or book a tour, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the nursery you're interested in and anything you tell us, such as your child's age or the days you need.
• Chat: if you chat with Jennifer, our virtual assistant, we keep the conversation and any contact details you share so the right nursery manager can follow up.
• When your child starts: we collect the information we need to care for your child safely, including contact and emergency details, health, allergy and dietary needs, and information about your child's development. This is held in our nursery management system (Famly) and covered by the information we give you when you accept a place.
• Funded hours: to claim funded childcare we collect the details your local authority requires, such as your child's date of birth and your eligibility code.
• Job applications: if you apply to work with us we collect your application details, references and the checks safer recruitment requires.
• Website use: technical information such as your browser, device and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies).

We don't ask children to give us personal information through this website. Information about a child is provided by their parent or carer.

How we use it and why

• To answer your enquiry, send the parent pack or guide you asked for, arrange your tour and pass your details to the manager of the nursery you're interested in — legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and steps before entering a contract.
• To provide your child's place, invoice fees and run the nursery — performance of a contract.
• To keep children safe and meet our legal duties, including Ofsted registration, the Early Years Foundation Stage, safeguarding, health and safety and funded-hours claims — legal obligation, and where health or other special category information is involved, the safeguarding and health and social care conditions of the Data Protection Act 2018.
• To keep in touch with news, open days and nursery information after you've enquired — where you've agreed to it or the law allows it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by replying STOP to a text.
• To run and improve the website and understand which pages help parents — legitimate interests, and consent where cookies require it.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only where needed, with:

• Our team — the nursery manager and staff at your nursery, and our central team.
• Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including our CRM, website and chat platform (HighLevel), our nursery management system (Famly), our payment providers, email and IT providers, and our accountants.
• Your local authority (Hampshire County Council or West Sussex County Council) to claim funded childcare.
• Ofsted, local authority children's services, the police, health professionals or emergency services where the law requires it or a child's safety depends on it.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK (for example in the United States). Where they do, transfers are protected by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't lead to a place: up to 2 years from our last contact.
• Children's records, fees and funding records: for the periods required by the Early Years Foundation Stage, HMRC, your local authority and our insurers.
• Accident, incident and safeguarding records: for the periods set out in statutory guidance, which for records about children can be until they reach 25 or longer.
• Unsuccessful job applications: 6 months after the role is filled.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. We will respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website uses cookies that are needed for it to work, such as remembering your form and chat sessions and whether you've already seen our parent pack offer. With your agreement it also uses analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Mouseflow) to understand how parents use the site, and may use advertising cookies (for example from Meta) to measure our adverts.
